The 2024 Paris Olympics were a monumental success for the USA Shooting team, with five impressive medals and several historic moments that will be remembered for years to come.
Vincent Hancock, an Olympic legend, secured his fourth gold medal in men’s skeet and a silver in mixed skeet. This incredible achievement places Hancock alongside other great Olympians like Michael Phelps and Carl Lewis. Competing at the Châteauroux Shooting Range, Hancock tied the Olympic record by hitting 124 out of 125 targets during qualification. In mixed skeet, a new Olympic event, Hancock teamed up with Austen Smith, and together, they clinched the silver medal. Read USA Shooting’s highlights from the mixed skeet event.

Meanwhile, Conner Prince made an unforgettable Olympic debut in Paris. Competing in men’s skeet, he secured a silver medal, marking the first time Team USA has won multiple medals in this event during a single Olympic Games. It was an incredible way to introduce himself to the world stage.
Smith and Prince’s success is not only a testament to their hard work but also to the effective training they received under the guidance of their teammate and coach, Vincent Hancock.
In the women’s 50m Smallbore Rifle event, Sagen Maddalena secured a silver medal, demonstrating resilience and skill. Her strong focus led her through a grueling set of elimination shots. Watch Maddalena win silver in the Women’s 50m smallbore rifle event here.
Another standout performance came from Katelyn Abeln. She became the first U.S. woman to qualify for an Olympic pistol final, competing in the women’s 25m sport pistol event. Although she finished eighth, Abeln’s journey is a remarkable milestone in the history of USA Shooting.
