How did you get started in shooting sports? Can you describe your journey from starting in shooting sports to becoming an Olympic athlete?
“I started shooting with my local high school team in 2014 and then progressed to Olympic Skeet in 2017. I started getting better throughout the years and made my first Olympic team in 2024.”
How has your training regimen evolved since qualifying for the 2024 Olympics? Can you describe a typical day of training in preparation for the Olympics?
“Depending on the day and how close I am to a competition I will shoot either 2 to 3 rounds and a final on the days I shoot 3 rounds. Since qualifying for the Olympics I’ve really started to break down my moves to the target to make it as smooth as possible.”
How does it feel to be preparing for the Olympics, and what does this opportunity mean to you?
What are your goals and aspirations for the Paris 2024 Olympics?
“My goal for Paris 2024 is to obviously win Gold but to also enjoy it while I’m there. Hopefully its not a once in a lifetime opportunity but either way I’m going to make the best of it.”
What advice would you give to aspiring shooting sports athletes who hope to compete at the Olympic level in the future?
“Never give up. Even on the days you don’t feel like training because the conditions or bad or you’re tired go out and do it anyway. Because there is someone else in your exact shoes who is going to take the day off. Why not get one step ahead of them.”
Conner Prince’s dedication, resilience and passion for shooting sports have propelled him to the pinnacle of his discipline. Conner Prince remains an inspiring figure as he sets his sights on Paris.
