My Shooting Sports Story: Corinne Mosher

“My Shooting Sports Story” is a place for people from all walks of life to share how they got started in the shooting sports and what they mean to them. There is a place for everyone in the shooting sports, regardless of age, race, religion, ethnicity, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, political affiliation or physical ability. It is our hope that these stories will connect and encourage others to give the shooting sports a try.

Corinne Mosher, Firearms Instructor and Professional 3 Gun Shooter

Hi my name is Corrine Mosher. I am a firearms instructor and professional 3-gun shooter. I got into shooting almost by accident.

I took a concealed carry course and realized that the responsibility of owning, using and carrying guns every day was momentous and I was either going to be all the way in or all the way out.

So, I decided to get as much training as possible. I Fell in love with it and became an instructor. I really enjoy spreading the knowledge and bringing people into the firearms ownership and learning about the basics and the safety, which led me into competitive shooting.

So, now I do 3 gun. It’s my favorite sport. It is rifle, pistol and shotgun. It is an action shooting sport. A lot times people will ask me when they see where I come from…from a musical background to suddenly shooting competitions all over the country, teaching all over the world, ‘hey what advice would you give to new shooters or people who are thinking about getting into the shooting sports, what are the steps, what should they do?’

And I would say, just go. Go to the range. You could have started last week. You could have started a month ago. Don’t wait until you feel like you are ready, because the shooting community, they are some of the most welcoming, supportive people in the entire world.

If you don’t have anything, show up, watch, people will most likely lend you their gear and are so willing to teach you about the sport they are passionate about.

So come, join the community. We want you!
