My Shooting Sports Story: Nic Moschetti, USA Shooting Team Member

“My Shooting Sports Story” is a place for people from all walks of life to share how they got started in the shooting sports and what they mean to them. There is a place for everyone in the shooting sports, regardless of age, race, religion, ethnicity, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, political affiliation or physical ability. It is our hope that these stories will connect and encourage others to give the shooting sports a try.

Who are you and what do you do?

Nic Moschetti, I shoot Men’s International Skeet.

How did you get started in the shooting sports?

I grew up outdoors with my dad hunting and fishing, but I shot recreationally from a very young age of 12. I found 4H Shooting Sports and began competing in American events. Two years later I found USA Shooting and International Skeet and I fell in love.

What do you like most about the shooting sports?

I enjoy the elite level of competition you find in a USA Shooting or ISSF (International Shooting Sports Federation) match. The comradery you find between competitors adds to all the excitement as well. I love seeing new faces on the range and getting new shooters involved. This sport is growing and it makes me happy.

What is your favorite shooting sport (if you have one)?

International Skeet.

What would you say to someone looking to get started?

Do not get discouraged. Starting is hard and there is a learning curve as well. Put in the work, spend the time on the range and I promise it will pay off. Do not be afraid to ask an experienced shooter any questions you have. Most importantly, always remember to have fun with shooting.

If you are an experienced shooter, join the +ONESM movement and invite someone to the range today!
